I don’t have A2 English

A2 English

CEFR for Languages Level A2 is required where for example someone is already in the UK with a 30 month spouse visa on which they are applying for an extension. Where they relied on Level A1 to satisfy the English language requirement on the entry clearance application they now are required to meet it at Level A2. If you do not have this then there must be compelling medical, physical or other circumstantial reasons as to why it cannot be obtained otherwise the extension application could be refused. If granted on the basis of human rights alone then the applicant would be given a further 30 months’ leave to remain in the UK but on the 10-year route to settlement rather than on the five year route.
