Will the Home Office interview me?

home office interview

For most applications that can be made to the Home Office you will not be interviewed and instead a decision will be made on the documentary evidence that is submitted in support of the application. The Home Office however reserve the right to make a decision based on an interview as well as the papers even if this is less usual. A good example is in making an entry clearance spouse visa application. By and large the Home Office will see no need to interview either the applicant outside the UK or the sponsor in the UK. Occasionally they will invite the applicant to answer substantive questions either at their visa application centre appointment or at a designated time and place (perhaps for an hour slot at the British embassy or consulate) and invite the sponsor to attend a Home Office location in the UK (sometimes to coincide with the applicant’s own interview).
